Managing Director

Tim has an entire working history in Sales and Business Development across many sectors, including publishing and advertising, event management, marine, energy, construction and civil engineering. Along the way he has worked with some amazing people in industry, and is proud to say that some of them have made the decision to be part of the Saline team.

As a natural problem solver, Tim is excited about exploring new ways to use tech to make an impact and solve complex challenges. He has conceptualised and developed a number of innovation projects, and brought them successfully to market.

Day to day, Tim is responsible for developing and supporting the team, overseeing Saline’s business growth strategy, managing client relationships, and delivering key projects. In his own words:

“I love working with the team that we have assembled. The dynamic that has developed over time is amazing, and brings fantastic results for our clients. Client satisfaction is central to what we do, and I’m pleased to say is an almost daily occurrence. We are lucky in that we get to work on a very diverse array of clients and projects, so no two days are the same!”

Nikki Smith

Nikki Smith

Finance and HR Director

Nikki leads on HR and the Finance side of Saline operations, as well as research and managing the day-to-day business.

Prior to co-founding Saline with Tim, she worked with children for 18 years, within settings that specialised in special educational needs.

With Saline, she has worked closely in partnership with key clients to develop crucial staff mentoring programmes, and has been a senior mentor to young professionals at an early stage of their career in the marine industry. She says:

“Supporting our younger colleagues and watching their development is so gratifying – it genuinely gives me a warm fuzzy feeling to see them as they progress through their achievements!”

Kevin Donovan

Kevin Donovan

Executive Director

Kevin provides strategy and works on establishing the company business management system and plan. He is a highly regarded HSSE and risk professional, with extensive experience working for large organisations in the oil and gas, construction, marine, civil engineering aircraft and atomic energy industries.

Kevin has lived and worked in many locations around the world, including Norway, Italy, the Russian Federation, Holland, France, South Korea, Malaysia and Australia. His experience includes Concept, FEED, Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, Operations and Decommissioning on major projects.

Joining the Saline team in 2021 was a radical change in direction for Kevin, and he’s enjoying being part of a small, dynamic company.

Pete Leach

Pete Leach

General Manager

Pete is responsible for establishing Saline’s business processes and procedures. He also supports certain clients with operational and project management services, and contributes to Saline’s professional auditing services.

Pete’s work history includes time served in the Royal Air Force, and he has over 10 years’ experience in project and operational management in small and large companies. He has overseen multi-million-pound contracts for top tier organisations within offshore renewables including Scottish Power Renewables, Ocean Winds, RWE, Kawasaki Heavy Industries and EDP Renewables.

Pete enjoys working with the wide variety of Saline clients, as he says:

“Every day is different and provides new perspectives. I’m proud of the fact that we consistently deliver on our promises, and that our clients recognise and appreciate that.”

Becky Fishman

Marketing Associate

Becky leads on Saline’s strategic communications, helping the company to explain what they do (and how they do it best!). She also works with Saline’s clients to support them with their specific comms and marketing challenges. In a career spanning 20+ years, she has worked with all kinds of companies, from large multinationals to early-stage startups. Prior to joining Saline, Becky was working at the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School where she helped establish their entrepreneurship centre, the Oxford Foundry, and worked with tech startups from multiple industry sectors.

From producing web projects to copy writing, and creating engaging content such as client case studies and feature articles, Becky is happiest when working with words and people to help support business growth.

John Blitz

John works with Saline’s clients in the marine and renewable power sectors, where he puts his extensive technical knowledge to good use: he has a PhD in chemical engineering, and was previously a development engineer in the water industry, as well as spending a long time working in the oil and gas chemical industries.

He tells us:

“Working in the renewables sector after 20 years in the oil and gas business is refreshing, as is the ‘pathfinder’ nature of some of the companies we represent. My colleagues are a diverse collection of people, and our office environment is both productive and enjoyable.”

Ryan Wilson

Ryan Wilson

Business Development & Account Manager

Ryan looks after clients in the nearshore and marine construction and offshore renewables sectors, opening doors and generating opportunities that allow them to grow in line with their targets.

Ryan’s job sees him working with clients on a diverse range of projects, as he explains: “One day I could be talking about asphalt for scour and erosion protection, and the next looking at a tender for installing dynamic bend stiffeners on an offshore wind farm. Working at Saline, I’ve gained a wealth of knowledge in an industry I knew nothing about when I started, and even then, it’s a drop in the ocean.”

Prior to joining Saline he spent time working as a baker, and before that he was an apprentice studying to be a motorcycle technician.

Tom Matthews

Tom Matthews

Business Development & Account Manager

Tom oversees sales and business development opportunities and projects for specific Saline clients. He interacts with various entities from government agencies to tier 1 contractors, ensuring that all communications are smooth and efficient.

Tom has worked in Business Development and Sales roles for over ten years, predominantly in the Maritime Security Industry and in Composite Engineering. At Saline, he enjoys the challenges that come with the role, and appreciates that there is always someone to discuss potential opportunities and bounce ideas around with. As he says – this leads to the best results: more business and sales for our clients!

Chloe is responsible for managing client accounts in the environmental services and civil engineering sectors. Prior to joining Saline, she spent five years working in pharmaceutical sales.

Chloe enjoys working with the Saline team, as there is lots of humour, warmth, and banter, and no two days are the same.

Dom has worked for 15 years in BD/Sales Management across multiple sectors from finance, IT and Construction.

He says that Saline feels like home, and explains:

Business Admin Apprentice

Tasha joined Saline as our first Business Admin Apprentice. In this varied role she assists the team with industry research, events and travel logistics and organising office systems, while learning all about the business and building skills for her future career.

Previously, Tasha worked in hospitality for six years, and this is her first office job. She tells us:

“It’s been so interesting to learn about the different aspects of how a business works. It’s also great to work with such a warm and welcoming team.”
